SCOPE OF WORK

 

The Metrics Project aims at industrial research and development of technologies to improve sustainability and safety in Historical Districts of towns. The tasks are focused on the following issues: 

• Safety
• Sustainability
• Quality of Life

The project deals with both single, historical buildings and historical districts and develops solutions which always take into account the town fabric and allow to increase structural safety of buildings and infrastructures and therefore improve the quality of life of dwellers and citizens. All projects issues are faced in a framework of environmental and social sustainability.

 

GOALS

The project’s main task is the identification of concrete solutions to manage and improve historical centers according to Horizon 20/20/20 goals which are the following:

• Reduction by 20% of greenhouse gases
• Reduction by 20% of power consumption by means of renewable energy systems deployed in historical buildings and sites
• Development of new technology suited for historical buildings, so to increase by 20% energy performances to reduce consumption and increase sustainability, also by means of high performance doors, windows and building envelopes.
